Nearly there!

The idea is nearly a reality. Years of thinking about perhaps owning a narrowboat. Months of researching what it would take. Weeks of looking at options - style, length, layout, quality, age, price. Always expecting it would take an age to find the right boat. But on only the second day on the road, we went to see the Erin Mae, and within an hour had made up our minds.

She's 3 years old, 60 foot long, and currently at Great Haywood near Stafford. The survey has shown her to be in excellent condition, with just a few jobs that need to be done. Main problem has been the weather, with the freeze-up meaning no work has been possible for over two weeks. Hopefully the slight thaw will now allow things to go ahead.

So on Tuesday we expect to travel up to take ownership, though we will need to leave her at Great Haywood over the winter.
